Nika Pailodze

Tbilisi

Da Miane (Nika Pailodze) is a Georgian street photographer from Tbilisi, born in 1995. Drawn to visual storytelling from a young age, he began photographing with early phone cameras, first capturing nature before turning to the human and urban landscapes around him.

With a background in literary studies, his work carries a strong narrative sensibility, marked by attention to composition, emotion, and fleeting moments. Since 2014, he has photographed Tbilisi’s streets almost daily, focusing on spontaneous human interactions, contrasts, and the overlooked poetry of everyday life.

Favoring intuition over orchestration, he rarely pursues commercial work, instead shaping his art through constant observation. His projects, such as Highland Adjara, reflect empathy and connection with strangers, a hallmark of his approach.

His images, often in color but sometimes black and white, portray anonymous yet familiar figures—sellers, buyers, passersby—whose presence lingers through his lens. Influenced by cinema, literature, and music, Da Miane sees photography not just as documentation but as a way to capture the subtle drama of the everyday.
